Job Description
Position: Executive Director for the Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce.
 
This position is the leader of the Chamber, establishing and carrying out the organization's
strategic plan and vision. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is
responsible for the management, activation and execution of all areas of need for the Chamber. The Executive Director also has overall strategic and operational responsibility for the Chamber's staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission, as well as development and recruiting new members. This position also oversees day to day operations. Candidate must possess the
ability to lead and inspire employees and work directly with the Board of Directors, members,
volunteers and local agencies and governments to carry out the organization's vision and mission. The candidate must be organized and a self-starter, with experience in recruiting, planning ,
delegating, and program development. Experience managing a budget and maintaining positive relationships with members and all individuals involved with carrying  out our goals is required.
 
Salary/Benefits: To be determined based upon education, experience and other determining
factors. Compensation will include base salary plus incentives with growth potential.
 
Qualifications: Candidate must have at least three years' experience as a successful leader,
with business acumen and the ability to be self-motivated and work effectively without direct
supervision. Chamber and/or other non-profit management, or related field experience, is
preferred. Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include: Excellent
communication skills, including written, oral and listening skills; public speaking in large and small groups; representing the Chamber in both print and broadcast interviews; and attention to a multitude of detail; technical ability to advertise/manage social media pages/campaigns and
website content; the ability to sell programs of the Chamber and recruit new members; past
success working with a board of directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member
relationships; strong marketing and public relations; and experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
